Back to the Blog

So all the blog reading I've been doing (it's a somewhat overwhelming task, but I keep finding so many wonderful people out there), I've finally decided to get back at it!  Life has been so busy recently with work, school and trying to have somewhat of a personal life that I've felt stressed at every twist and turn.  I had to stop myself yesterday and say, "I am thankful for my life and all the blessings that have come my way."  Even when I've got too much on my plate (more like a platter these days), at least I have a plate and I have exceptional people in my life that share that plate.  Here's to positive attitudes and surrounding ourselves with others of the same mindset!

Let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus.

Pumpkin Palooza

I'm not the biggest Halloween fan you've ever met, but I do suffer from pumpkin palooza.  Not only do I love the beautiful orange color, but the taste and smell of pumpkins may be second favorite (mint takes the coveted #1 spot!)  A spa in town was offering a pumpkin facial and I almost went for it!  I'm currently sipping on a pumpkin spice ale that makes it feel like fall even if it's 95 degrees outside.

Sam almost up to his elbows in pumpkin goo!  I baked the seeds with a delicious spice mixture thanks to my friend Amy.  A little melted butter, cinnamon, brown sugar, cayenne pepper and salt.  The perfect mix of salty and sweet!

The puppies were far more entertained by Goldfish snacks rather than carving the pumkin!

HomeGreats

When I started buying my own "things" to furnish my home three years ago, I bought most everything from one of my favorite stores - HomeGoods!  I've made some recent additions to add some color to my home.  See what I've found!

I'm pretty much obsessed with the gold reptile print frame and even better, it was only $6!  The lamp, table, tray and candlesticks were also from Homegoods.  I store all my wedding invites, birthday, Christmas and other cards below so they're easy to pull out and read from time to time.  I also got a great mirror that my sweet boyfriend was kind enough to hang a day after the photo.  He's also the giver of the beautiful orchid - it adds a beautiful pop of color!

I'm very finicky about picking out art work, but I was so drawn to this piece which I've had for about a year or so. It's an old window frame with different dresses on each piece of glass.  Perfect to hang over my closet!

Bright colored pillows add a little something extra again my stark white bedding from Pottery Barn that I just adore.  The pictures above the bed are also courtesy of HomeGoods, but I'm thinking of moving them and getting something new or maybe painting something myself.

New Arrival

Welcome to my blog!

This is somewhat of a learning process for me, but I've thoroughly enjoyed reading many of the other blogs out there so I was inspired to start my own.

There are so many inspirations out there in this beautiful world, but my main inspiration is my mother who is no longer with us, but guides me every day down Sara Jane's Way every single day.

I look forward to sharing this process with each of you.  Enjoy!
